Thank you for your interest in the The Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle. Be sure to check out our Online Viewbook for an overview of our program. Our curriculum is inquiry-based with themes of global importance. Our Director of Elementary Education Suzanne Messinger explains below: JDS: Character. Inquiry. Action. These three pillars have brought to life the new mission and vision for the JDS learning community. Incorporating a Program of Inquiry at JDS has allowed us to redefine how we teach. Rather than a class dedicated to one subject, JDS students engage in the exploration of integrated units of inquiry that are rooted in and organized by themes of global importance. The curriculum has excited and energized our staff, Board of Trustees, faculty leadership, families and community members who are whole-heartedly dedicated to inspiring our students to become compassionate and upstanding members of the Jewish community; dynamic and reflective learners; and appreciative citizens of our global community. With the growth and expansion of our Program of Inquiry and our affective curriculum, JDS has entered a new era of exploration and innovation, committed to exemplifying a 21st century education, grounded in Jewish values.
