Note From Meghan

Dear Families,

I want to invite you to attend a special parent session on Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. Heather Clark, Ph.D., who has been engaged with our faculty this fall, will facilitate a session to discuss how to foster a sense of belonging for children, and to hold space to discuss how that is particularly important for the children of JDS in this current environment.

Heather Clark, Ph.D., is a sociocultural anthropologist at the University of Washington and a long-time faculty member at Rainier Scholars. Ms. Clark specifically works with private and independent schools in the area. This fall, Ms. Clark has worked with the JDS faculty and staff to explore the importance of culture and how to incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion into all aspects of our community. We are grateful for her work with us so far and look forward to introducing her wisdom and expertise to the entire community.

I recognize that there are many demands on our time right now, but I highly recommend that you attend this session with me!

With Gratitude,

Meghan
