Dear Families, At JDS, we strongly believe that our community is our home. We live this Jewish value of mutual responsibility and community well-being every day. One of our goals this year is to increase individual engagement within the community. There are two important avenues for parents and caregivers to engage at JDS. Did you know that every parent and caregiver at JDS is already a member of the Parent Association (P.A.)? The P.A. is not only a way to volunteer but also an important opportunity to bring the adult community together and foster a greater sense of belonging for all. If your passions and interests align with long-term vision and strategy, the Board of Trustees may be a path you would like to pursue. Membership on a Board Committee such as Finance, Development, or Facilities allows you to contribute in an area of expertise. Membership on the Bord of Trustees is a more significant investment of time but a rewarding opportunity to influence the long-term vision and future of the school. The graphic below shows the various engagement opportunities and range of involvement, from hands-on volunteering to strategic input. |
Your contributions, no matter how small, have a positive impact on the school community. Whether it’s through volunteering in the classroom or joining the Board of Trustees, we encourage you to become an active participant in creating a stronger learning environment for everyone. After Kehillah on Friday, January 12th, we will be holding an in-person informational session to further share opportunities with the P.A. and Board of Trustees. We hope to see you there! With Gratitude, Meghan |
